MIND-CENTERED AND BODY-CENTERED COACHING

Mind- and body-centered coaching are complementary and often build upon each other:

Body-centered coaching may include a mind-centered component, such as discussing practical steps you can take to maximize the progress we have made in our body-centered work

Assisted yoga and craniosacral therapy are available in Northern Virginia, convenient to Washington, D.C. and nearby Maryland

All other services are available in person or by telephone

Telephone coaching has several advantages:

Even on the phone, we can incorporate many aspects of body-centered as well as mind-centered coaching (for example, learning how to ground yourself and working with the breath)

STRESS REDUCTION COACHING

Incorporate body- and breath-centered techniques, as appropriate to your needs and learning style

ASSISTED YOGA

Gently explore places of comfort and physical stress, your reactions to them, and how to stay centered:
 

•

Experience guided movement through yoga postures and breathing exercises, adapted to your level of fitness

•

If you are new to yoga, discover ways to move through your daily life with more ease and grounding, through greater body awareness

•

If you are familiar with yoga, deepen your awareness of physical, mental and emotional issues that arise in your practice and how to apply these insights “off the mat”

•

I also offer workshops on yoga for stress reduction, including special workshops for women with fertility concerns, and workshops for laughter yoga




BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Help your nervous system "recalibrate" to a calmer state:

Experience gentle bodywork that will deeply calm and relax you
-- Light touch on a massage table, fully clothed except for shoes

•

This bodywork is based on a 700-hour training program that emphasizes:
-- Anatomy and physiology of the nervous system
-- Embryology
-- Patterns of stress in early emotional development

It is helpful for physical and emotional conditions related to the nervous system

•

It is suitable for people of all ages, including children and infants

•
